About Our Fittings

The Right Fit Makes All the Difference

A hearing aid is only as good as its fitting. At Edmonton Hearing Aid Centre, we don't just hand you a device — we program it precisely to your audiogram, verify the fit using real-ear measurement, and fine-tune it until it's right for your lifestyle.

We carry a range of hearing aid styles and technology levels to suit different degrees of hearing loss, activity levels, and budgets. Whether you're looking for something discreet and invisible or a feature-rich rechargeable device, we'll help you find the right match.

After your fitting, we schedule follow-up appointments to check in, make adjustments, and ensure you're getting the most out of your hearing aids as you adjust to wearing them.

The Process

How Our Hearing Aid Fitting Works

A proper fitting is a process, not a one-time event. Here's what to expect from your first appointment through to ongoing care.

1

Hearing Assessment Review

We start with your audiogram — either from a recent hearing test with us or one you bring in. This is the foundation for selecting and programming your hearing aids.

2

Style & Technology Selection

We discuss your lifestyle, listening environments, and budget to recommend the right hearing aid style and technology level for your needs.

3

Programming & Real-Ear Verification

We program the hearing aids to your audiogram and use real-ear measurement to verify the sound reaching your eardrum matches your prescription exactly.

4

Fit Check & Orientation

We check the physical fit for comfort, walk you through inserting and removing the devices, explain battery or charging, and show you how to clean and care for them.

5

Follow-Up & Fine-Tuning

Your hearing changes and your brain adapts. We schedule follow-up visits to make adjustments as you settle into wearing your hearing aids in real-world environments.

Styles We Fit

Hearing Aid Styles Available

Different styles suit different degrees of hearing loss and lifestyle preferences. We'll help you find what works best for you.

Invisible-in-canal hearing aid

Invisible-in-Canal (IIC)

The most discreet option — sits completely inside the ear canal and is virtually invisible. Best for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Receiver-in-canal hearing aid

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)

Slim and lightweight with a small unit behind the ear and a thin wire to a receiver in the canal. One of the most popular styles for a reason — versatile and comfortable.

Rechargeable hearing aids with charging case

Rechargeable Hearing Aids

No more fiddling with tiny batteries. Rechargeable hearing aids charge overnight like a phone and last a full day — ideal for those with dexterity challenges.
